The TRICA Phone Booth. Last updated 26 August 2026.
The phone booth is a recorded-message line run by TRICA in Boise, Idaho, and a private web app its staff use to manage what the line plays. These terms cover the admin site. Dialing the phone requires nothing of you and is not covered here.
Who may use the admin site
The admin site is for TRICA staff and volunteers we have approved. You may use it if your email address is on the approved list. Sign in with your own Google account and do not share access with anyone else. If somebody else needs access, ask an administrator to add them.
What you may put on the phone
Anyone dialing the booth may hear what you add, so do not add:
- anything unlawful, harassing, or hateful;
- anyone's personal information, including your own phone number or address;
- a recording of someone who has not agreed to be recorded;
- material somebody else holds the copyright to, such as commercial music.
New messages arrive switched off, so nothing reaches the phone until a staff member turns it on. We may remove or disable any message at any time, for any reason.
The recordings
Messages made for the booth belong to TRICA and may be played on the phone for as long as TRICA wants to play them. If you recorded your own voice and later want it taken down, write to us and we will remove it.
No promises about availability
This is a small art project, not a paid service, and it is provided as is. The phone line and the admin site may be unavailable, may lose messages, or may stop entirely without notice. TRICA is not liable for any loss arising from using them or from being unable to.
Ending access
We may remove anyone's access at any time, and you may ask to have yours removed. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data when that occurs.
Changes
If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Continuing to use the admin site after that means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA.
