Privacy policy

The TRICA Phone Booth. Last updated 26 August 2026.

The phone booth is a recorded-message line at TRICA in Boise, Idaho, and a private web app the staff use to manage what it plays. This page covers both.

If you dial the phone

Nothing about you is stored. The booth phone has no caller ID and asks for nothing. Our logs record which digit was dialed and which recording played, so we can tell whether the line is working. They do not identify the caller, because nothing in the call does.

Calls are carried by Twilio, our telephone provider, which keeps its own record of each call as part of delivering it.

If you sign in to the admin site

The admin site is limited to TRICA staff we have approved. For them we store:

We ask Google only for your name, email address and profile picture. We do not read your mail, contacts, calendar, files, or anything else in your Google account, and we never receive your Google password.

What we do with it

We use it to run the phone line and nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone outside TRICA, and we show no advertising. We do not use it to train machine-learning models. There are no analytics or tracking scripts on this site or the admin site, and neither one sets advertising cookies.

The data is held in Amazon Web Services in Oregon. Text typed for a message is sent to a speech provider to be read aloud, and forecast text comes from the US National Weather Service.

How long we keep it

Recordings stay until a staff member deletes them. Your sign-in account and your place on the approved-user list stay until your access is removed. Activity logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your choices

If you have signed in to the admin site, you can ask us to remove your account, your place on the approved-user list, and any recording you made. Write to the address below and we will do it.

Children

The admin site is for TRICA staff and is not offered to children. The phone itself collects nothing from anyone who dials it, whatever their age.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
